Guardianship Services
Supporting & Advocating for Adults in Our Care
Guardians look after the emotional, social, financial and physical well-being of these vulnerable adults and advocate for the least restrictive living environment possible.
Serving Cuyahoga and Lorain counties, LMM provides legal guardians to serve as concerned, caring advocates and surrogate decision-makers for indigent, incompetent adults who cannot care for themselves and have often encountered abuse or exploitation. LMM has provided adult guardianship services in Northeast Ohio for more than 30 years.
Intake Services
Guardianship Services receives community referrals from various service providers. If you would like to submit a referral for guardianship, please click on the intake form below for the appropriate county. The intake form will also reflect the program’s referral criteria. For more information on intake, please call 216.696.1132.
Volunteer Guardianship
Guardianship Services has a corps of dedicated volunteers who serve as volunteer guardians to some of the most vulnerable adults in Northeast Ohio.
Volunteer guardians are devoted to helping those who cannot help themselves. After the initial training, volunteers are matched with a ward to make at least one face-to-face visit per month and complete appropriate reports. Volunteers receive continuous support from program staff.
