Each May marks Mental Health Awareness Month, bringing us an opportunity to break the stigma, share resources, and raise awareness around mental health. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 6 youth experience mental health issues each year. At LMM, the individuals we serve often experience challenges around housing instability, barriers to employment, incarceration, aging, and more – issues that may only exacerbate mental health challenges.
