In 2019, LMM launched Breaking New Ground: Building LMM’s Next 50 Years.

Breaking New Ground is an innovative rental model for underserved Clevelanders by purchasing and renovating up to 20 homes in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood. Families exiting homelessness will be eligible for the new housing program, with affordable rents and connections to supportive services.

The most obvious barrier to sustainable, permanent housing is prohibitive cost. We’ll close the gap between voucher-eligible would-be renters and homes that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

The $3.5 million in funds raised will help to both directly remodel the homes and to sustain the project through a Family Stability Fund.

Our promise:

To be the landlord we wish to see. LMM will advance existing efforts to end family homelessness in Cleveland by restoring hope and homes for our city’s most underserved.
