Upcoming Voter Deadlines for Cuyahoga County

The Primary Election is coming up on May 5, 2026, and it’s more important now than ever to make your voice heard in the polls.

To clarify, this is not the Midterm election that will be held in November, but it is essentially the vote before the vote for it.

The Primary decides who will be on the ballot at the end of the year, and below are all of the deadlines that you need to know to be prepared:

April 6: Voter Registration Deadline (9:00 PM)

April 7: Early Voting Begins (Absentee & In Person)

April 28: Absentee Ballot Request Deadline: (8:30 PM)

May 5: Primary Election (6:30 AM to 7:30 PM)

Important Note: In many states you are able to vote in a Primary without being registered to a particular party, but in others you are only able to vote if you register to a particular party.

In Ohio your party is decide based on how you vote in the Primary, and the ballot is open to all registered voters.
