Financial Assistance

Financial aid at LMM is secured with the assistance of our financial aid staff. LMM works with each student individually to limit your out-of-pocket costs. By working with our financial aid advisors, students will have the opportunity to identify the financial aid options available to them in order to make an informed decision about how they will pay for education here at LMM. Each student’s financial aid advisor will guide them through each step of the process, including applying for financial aid, to ensure they are taking advantage of all financial aid resources available to them.

The financial aid process at LMM utilizes a number of different options that include the Federal Pell Grant, applicable state and local grants, and work study opportunities. Students will need to complete the FAFSA application to determine their eligibility for qualifying financial aid options prior to enrolling in the Associate’s Degree Program. Federal Student Aid (Pell Grant) can only be awarded to students in the Associate’s Degree Program.

Disbursement and Special Provisions for Books & Supplies Under Title IV

Federal regulations (34 CFR 668.164(i)) dictate that if a student has a Title IV (federal aid) credit balance on his or her account 10 days prior to the semester, he or she is able to use the credit balance amount to obtain books and supplies through the seventh day of the payment period. The school may use the actual costs of books and supplies or allowance for those materials used in estimating the student’s cost of attendance for the period.

LMM already includes the actual costs of books and supplies in the cost of attendance.

LMM allows any students with an anticipated credit balance to apply those funds to their student account for any amount that may be owed for not returning library texts. For more information on credit balances, please contact the Financial Aid Officer by emailing imarks@lutheranmetro.org
