The USDA recently confirmed that SNAP benefits will not be issued on November 1.
Due to depleted federal funds, the food assistance programs will remain paused nationwide until funding is approved.
Until Congress restores the aforementioned funding, more than 1.3 million Ohio residents, 190,000 Cuyahoga County tenants, and 42 million people nationwide will be without necessary food assistance.
Here is a list of resources in the meantime:
United Way – Call 211 anytime to find food pantries, shelters, etc.
Greater Cleveland Food Bank – Located at 15500 S. Waterloo Rd. Cleveland, OH 44110, and you can check greaterclevelabndfoodbank.org/CRC for more information.
Make sure to check jfs.ohio.gov for additional updates from the State of Ohio’s Job and Family Services as well.
It’s important to note that any SNAP funds from October will remain active on EBT cards in the meantime.
