We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Richard “Dick” Hansler, a cherished member of the LMM family, who lived an extraordinary 100 years filled with generosity, vision, and unwavering dedication.
As a founding member of our organization, Mr. Hansler and his wife Wanda played a pivotal role in shaping the mission and impact of LMM, helping to lay the foundation for the work that continues to transform lives today. Dick’s steadfast commitment and lifelong support of social causes have been an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Back in August 2024, we shared a story about Dick celebrating his 100th birthday. In lieu of receiving traditional gifts, he asked family, friends, and well-wishers to make donations to LMM in his honor. The response to this request was awe-inspiring. Dick’s 100th birthday helped raise nearly $10,000 to support LMM’s programs and services.
Dick and Wanda’s generosity and devotion have left an indelible mark on LMM, ensuring that we can continue our mission for generations to come. While we mourn this great loss, we also celebrate a remarkable life well-lived, filled with kindness, service, and an enduring legacy that will forever be part of LMM’s story. Our hearts are with Dick’s family and loved ones during this time.
A celebration of Dick’s life will take place this Saturday, February 8 at the Church of the Western Reserve, 30500 Fairmount Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH with visitation at 10 am and memorial service at 11 am. A luncheon at the church will follow.
