Running for a Better Future – Support LMM Youth

Hello friends of LMM,

I’m Connor O’Brien, LMM’s Communications Manager, and I’m excited to be running the 2025 Cleveland Half Marathon in support of LMM’s Youth Resiliency Services (YRS) program. I’ll be running alongside my colleague and full marathoner, Benjamin Turney, YRS Program Director, to raise funds for this vital program.

It’s estimated that out of the approximately 5,000 people affected by homelessness in Cuyahoga County annually, 8% are youth. The Trevor Project reports that 28% of LGBTQ+ youth have experienced homelessness or housing instability at some point in their lives. Despite these inequities, Cleveland remains the only major city in Ohio without a dedicated youth drop-in center.

By clicking the ‘Support LMM’ button below, you’re not only supporting Benjamin and me, but you’re contributing directly to LMM’s continued commitment to providing essential resources for youth experiencing homelessness, including the agency’s dedication to bringing Cleveland its first youth drop-in center.

I’m entering my sixth year as Communications Manager at LMM, and I’ve had the privilege to be a part of the impactful work LMM is doing to support vulnerable populations in Northeast Ohio. I began running consistently in the fall of 2022, and my commitment to fitness and an active lifestyle fell into place in the years following, with running in races, cycling, hiking, re-learning to swim, and strength training. I’m grateful for the chance to combine my passion for being active with supporting LMM through the 2025 Cleveland Half Marathon.

Thank you in advance, your support means a lot!
