Capital Campaign Will Create Avenues to Industries
LMM is growing our capacity to deliver quality workforce development training.
Avenues to Industries is a $3.5 million renovation of LMM’s 6,200 square foot warehouse across the street from the Richard Sering Center on E. 45th and Superior Ave.
The transformed LMM Workforce Training Center will house new opportunities for upward economic mobility that will be offered to unemployed and underemployed people seeking vocational training.
The new Building Maintenance & Repair (BMR) Program will be housed in the center’s well-equipped education, training, and demonstrations facilities. The program will prepare jobseekers for positions in:
- Building maintenance
- Light construction
- Home repair and remodeling
The project will also create a new storefront cafe that overlooks Superior Avenue. It will generate income as a social enterprise operation, and will house a spacious training and catering kitchen that will increase capacity to support students pursuing culinary training.
We are grateful to the community members who have already committed $1.3 million in private funding toward this campaign. Thank you to the generous individuals, foundations, and corporations who believe in our Mission and have invested in Avenues to Industries thus far. Our goal is to secure $2.2 million in philanthropic investments by mid-year.

An aging inventory of commercial and residential properties, and regional demand for infrastructure improvements has dramatically increased regional demand for skilled construction trades and maintenance workers.
Employment in construction, general maintenance and repair workers in Ohio is projected to grow 5 percent from 2021 to 2031. Mean wages range from $25.12 to $27. 25 per hour, ($52,250 to $56,680 annually). This exceeds the local living wage for adults in the city of Cleveland.
