🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS 🚨
The rules for how mail-in (or absentee) ballots have changed, and they will be in affect for the Primary election in May, as well as the Midterm election in November.
Mail-in ballots, or absentee ballots, used to have a 4-day grace period allowing them to still be counted despite arriving after election day. Under a new state law that went into affect this year, all ballots must now arrive by the time polls close on election day to be counted.
This means that the best ways to ensure your vote counts is to:
- Vote in person at your local Board of Elections
- Mail your ballot as far in advance as you can
- Or to hand deliver your absentee ballot (which can be done at your BOE in a dropbox or inside of the building)
