Healthy Homes Initiative

LMM’s Office of Advocacy began implementation of the Faith Health Hub Initiative in 2010. The Faith Health Hub Initiative established ports of health education and advocacy in participating churches in East Cleveland, Lakewood, Maple Heights, and Cleveland. These churches have agreed to serve as information centers for health education and promotion with an emphasis on pressing healthy homes issue (i.e. childhood lead poisoning, mold/asthma, bed bugs, etc.)

The Office of Advocacy trains the clergy leaders and congregants about organizing and advocacy within their churches and community. Health educators are selected and trained from each congregation to teach their fellow church members and participate in various advocacy activities.
