People who have been involved with the justice system often wear that scarlet letter for life -- a criminal record limits employment, student loans, credit and housing opportunities among others.
The objective of Second Chance is to provide non-violent, first-time offenders with the opportunity to become fully productive members of society. Second Chance provides assistance with the expungement and sealing of a criminal record in accordance with Ohio Revised Code. Second Chance is also a conduit to other supportive services that are needed by the individual.
The project will determine the impact of motivation for record expungement on recidivism, substance treatment compliance, victim awareness and restitution, and assimilation into a productive lifestyle.
