Oh God, we ask your blessings on people who are homeless, that they may find support and encouragement from the Church and the larger community. We ask your blessings on Westhaven youth shelter, the men’s shelter in downtown Cleveland, Adult Guardianship Program in Cuyahoga County and Volunteer Guardianship Program in Lorain County, ministries of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry that protect and shelter lost and hurting people and work to prevent and address homelessness.
Oh God, we ask your blessings on people involved in the criminal justice system. Remembering that we are sinners, help us to restrain our judgment, extend forgiveness and welcome others back into community as you always welcome us. We ask your blessings on the staff and volunteers of Community Re-Entry, and Youth Re-Entry, ministries of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry that promote restorative justice, reestablish lives and reduce crime.
Oh God, we ask your blessings on all people who are looking for work. We especially ask your blessings on LEAP—Linking Employment Abilities & Potential, Women’s Re-Entry Network and the Youth Employment Program, ministries of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry that encourage and help people to live independently and participate in community.
Oh God, we ask your blessings on people living and working in nursing homes and in other long term care settings. We also ask that you strengthen the staff and volunteers of the Long Term Care Ombudsman and Services to Adult Care Homes, ministries of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry that advocate for, serve and protect people who have outlived their families or who have been forgotten.
