Since 1973, Community Re-Entry has served with Cleveland by supporting persons returning to the community after a period of incarceration and persons placed on probation to reduce recidivism and enhance the quality of life for both the persons and the community served. Community Re-Entry also provides prevention and intervention social services to youth in low-income public housing estates who are at high risk for involvement in drug or gang activity and future incarceration.

Help End Employment Discrimination Against Formerly Incarcerated Persons

Community Re-Entry has worked with State Sen. Shirley Smith in introducing House Bill 197, which proposes to end widespread hiring discrimination against persons convicted of a criminal offense(s). Smith's bill proposes to seal some multiple offenses only after a petitioner had been before a judge, a prosecutor, and other interested parties, and found to have been satisfactorily rehabilitated by a court finding. If you are interested in justice and believe that these individuals deserve a second chance, please send a letter to the Ohio legislature in support of Smith’s efforts to end wholesale employment discrimination against formerly incarcerated persons.
