Thank
you for joining us in the journey called
advocacy!
We are delighted
that you have
decided to use your skills and abilities to help us make a difference
in the
lives of so many people. Our
work is
about love, healing, compassion, and justice for those who are
vulnerable,
marginalized, poor, or oppressed. As
advocates, we are inspired to stand up with the least of these and to
support
them in getting the help that they need to improve the quality of their
lives.
As advocates, we
also attempt to impact
systems through public policy advocacy and the removal of unnecessary
barriers.
We
have invited community members to join us in the
work of advocacy and we think that it is important to provide you with
an
overview of work here at the Office of Advocacy. We
also desire to provide you with general
information about our Advocacy Partners Program and to offer some
training tips
on how to be a good advocate.
This online
training program can serve as a change agent to living out your faith
in
action.
Our
work is carried out through the development of
an Advocacy Workplan that guides the work of the Office of Advocacy.
With
great thanks…
Rev.
